ABOUT

I have been married 1/2 century to Sally. Sal is the best. She is a funny and charming Madonna to the world and me. I have 2 great kids and 3 happy grand kids.

Sally and I live in Northern California in the Redwoods. But we have lived winters for 18 years in  Baja Sur on the Pacific side.  I have been writing a blog on Baja for many years but have run that race. Baja Report has been taken down.  I have created a menu page on this site and am in the process of uploading some of my favorite blogs from the  Baja Report.

I have been writing all my life.  Mostly poetry, both short poems and longer.  I have self published five chapbooks of poems and photography for family and friends.  I have also written and continue to write short stories. There are several in andybondi.com.

As a busy father, husband, and contracting business owner I squeezed writing in the best I could.  Poetry and short stories worked for me as I could get in and out quickly and have something that worked.

I love Haiku.  I have been reading the same 2 compilations of Haiku for years.  A Haiku read over and over never becomes stale.

Over the years when I stopped  moving I started writing.  Sometimes I wrote  just fragments that sat in notebooks for years.

In this blog I will put up my writing from the past and the present.  Included are poems from the chapbooks as well as new poems, old and new short stories, and some photography.  Photography to me is a natural compliment to writing poems.  Both are arts of composition. I call both the art of seeing.

Also included is Round Trip-a serialized novel length, mostly true, story of the early 70’s that is being posted as it is written.

Round Trip has been living in me for 46 years.  I have told it many times at the dinner table with friends.  It was amazing and crazy and funny and stressful when we lived it.  It still is in the telling.
